We linked maths with science when we were learning about the human circulatory system. To help us to identify and name the main parts of our blood we modelled the components of blood by making our own sample. We used our maths knowledge of fractions and percentages to help us work out how much of each substance to use.
We worked together to create blurb posters for some of our favourite books. To succeed we had to include an eye-catching heading, a brief summary of the story, an extract, pictures and quotes from newspapers or magazines. Then we created a display of our finished work.
In Art we have been studying felt – how it is made, its properties and what it is used for. Following traditional methods we made our own pieces of felt using wool tops. It was quite a long process – rolling the felt 800 times was quite tiring! However, we were all very pleased with our results and are now in the process of turning our handmade felt into a finished product.
