We learn all four operations and calculations including word problems and sometimes we look at other areas of maths. Shape and space is fun and we look at the properties of three dimensional shapes and learn how co-ordinates work
English. We use photographs to inspire our writing, which can help us with alliteration and creating headlines for newspapers. We write short stories each week which helps us make our writing interesting.
PE: In PE, we play warm up games which help build team work. In gymnastics, we learn the correct way to perform a handstand, forward roll or cartwheels. We also enjoy a weekly swimming session and continue our physical development outside in free play.
ICT: In ICT we learn to use different software programmes including coding and keyboard skills. We also use computers to practice our spellings, grammar and research skills.
History: We learn history through reading, researching, exploring artefacts and feeling what it would be like to be a Roman. We have made shields to practice the Roman Tortoise formation. We also look at Roman entertainment and their famous chariot races. We even made one!
Golden Time: In Golden Time we play educational games and if the weather is nice we go outside to enjoy our outdoor Timber Trail or take chalks, skipping ropes and hoops.
Homework: We do homework each week which earns us points.
Onomatopoeia: Sometimes we work across the curriculum. For example these photos show our English work where we have done onomatopoeic words, descriptive phrases and rhyming poetry, coupled with Firework safety, DT (making rockets) and wonderful art work using various techniques, tools and layering.
