Mrs Lloyd

23rd March 2022 By sharonmaughan

Hi Everyone,
I hope you have all managed to enjoy half term.
This message is to let you know officially, that Mrs Lloyd will be retiring at the end of this term.
Mrs Lloyd has been an extremely valuable part of Bullion Lane for 26 years, playing a tremendous part in all aspects of school life, and will be a huge miss.
Firstly, I would like to thank her for the dedication and commitment she has shown towards all the children that have been in her care. Mrs Lloyd has not only been an outstanding teacher but also someone who has played a key role in the lives of many who were vulnerable or needed extra support. Children are always made to feel special and cared for, ensuring they are happy and confident after speaking to her. Parents are also extremely appreciative of the hours of support she has given them.
Mrs Lloyd has not only been a positive role model and a huge support to the staff, but being a great team member, she has also brought energy, fun and laughter to the staff room. The time she has given, and her enthusiasm, enables staff to share their thoughts with her knowing that she will give help or advice if necessary.
From my point of view, it has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to work with Mrs Lloyd. She is a true professional and I couldn’t have wished for a better Deputy to work with.
She is reliable, loyal and our identical thought processes (most of the time!), and humour have ensured that we have being able to work extremely well together and made significant improvements to make this school as great as it is now.
She is not only a great work colleague but also a true friend who I will miss and who I am sorry to see go. I wish her all the very best for the future, and hope that she has a long and happy retirement.

February Half Term!

17th February 2022 By sharonmaughan

Hi Everyone,

Well, what a half term it has been! The children have settled well and have been working really hard.

It is World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March so a homework activity has been sent home where children have been asked to design a book cover for their favourite book. Children can also come to school dressed as their favourite character on that day.

Have a lovely holiday!

Christmas update!

15th December 2021 By sharonmaughan

Hi Everyone!

Cinders!
Very well done to all children in our Performing Arts club. The performance of Cinders was fantastic. Everyone was professional, enthusiastic and made everyone laugh.

Reception Sing-a-Long
Well done to all Reception children who sang their hearts out at the outdoor sing-along. It was lovely to hear those well-known songs again!

Nursery Stay and Play
Thank you to those parents who came into Nursery to play and join in with their child to see what they were learning about.

Christmas Jumper Day
Everyone looked very festive on Christmas Jumper day where we raised £159.45 for Save the Children

Gala theatre
All children in Y1-Y6 had a fantastic time at the Gala theatre where we watched the pantomime, ‘Robin hood.’ The behaviour of the children was impeccable.

New College Pantomime
Children in Y3-Y6 enjoyed ‘A Christmas Carol,’ which was the pantomime provided by New College students. It was enjoyed by all who watched it.

Ms Middleton

10th November 2021 By sharonmaughan

Hi Everyone,

I just want to let you all know the news regarding Ms Middleton. Sadly, she has had to leave Bullion Lane as she has been suffering from Long-Covid for the past year, and unfortunately, she is still unwell.

I would like to thank Ms Middleton for the years of dedication she has given to this school. She is an outstanding teacher whose commitment to all aspects of school life has been invaluable. She has been a huge support to the staff as well as the children. Her musical talents permeated through the school with the many clubs, choirs and concerts she organised and ran, resulting in many confident, happy children that took part in them.

It has been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to work with her, and she will be a tremendous miss. I wish her all the very best for the future and I hope that her health begins to improve soon.

October Half Term!

19th October 2021 By sharonmaughan

Hi Everyone,

Well, we have made it to half term! It has been lovely to have some form of normality back into school again. Performing arts and football club have started and we have had a successful ‘Crack the Code,’ sponsored event with the money raised going towards our theatre visit and Nursery/Reception parties.

The children have participated in some well-being workshops which were very successful.

Lambton class also provided the school with a Halloween ‘pop-up shop’ which went down a treat!

Retirement

15th July 2021 By sharonmaughan

Hello Everyone,

Mrs Spellman is leaving us at the end of this term to start her retirement. I have had the pleasure and privilege to work with her for the past 10 years. I would like to say a huge thank you to her for the endless commitment, time and energy she has given to the children, and the tremendous support she has given to the staff.
I am sure many of you are appreciative of the support and care Mrs Spellman has given your child during their first year of school. Children have always enjoyed her fun and creative lessons where she has introduced many characters such as The Gruffalo and Jim the Gingerbread Man!
She will be a huge miss, and I will be very sorry to see her go. I wish her all the very best for the future, and hope that she has a very long and happy retirement.

I would also like to say a huge thank you to all children, staff and parents for all their hard work, commitment and support throughout this difficult time. Everyone should now know the arrangements for September, please check the Class Dojo if not.

I would like to wish our Year 6 all the very best for the future and I hope everyone has an enjoyable and restful summer holiday.

April 2021

22nd April 2021 By sharonmaughan

It’s great to have everyone back after the Easter holidays. There is a new COVID Premises risk assessment that has been updated which is in the ‘Safeguarding’ section for those of you who would like to read it.

Our school allotment is a hive of activity at the moment. Thanks to Ms. Baird, classes are in the process of planting a variety of fruit, vegetables and flowers. Ms. Baird has created an ‘outdoor classroom’ in the polytunnel, and with the help of her class and Aaron Ramm (Y6 pupil), they have  also created a bug hotel, herb garden and small pond to encourage frogs to join us. Thank you to everyone who has kindly made a donation to the school for the garden. It is very much appreciated.

Thanks also to Mrs. Lewis for making ice lollies and raspberry ice-cream to sell, made from the fruit in the school garden.
